These beautiful little bowls are essentially a “by product” of the salt firing process. The unglazed bowls are filled with salt, and then placed between the bigger pots in a woodfired kiln. At a certain temperature the salt evaporates, and whilst glazing the whole kiln, the salt also glazes the little bowls. This is one of the oldest techniques to make food safe, water proof ceramics.

Every bowl is slightly different. you can choose a set of three surprise bowls, or one slightly bigger bowl with a spoon.
